AUSTRALIA’S OTHER GREAT SNORKEL DIVES

Australia’s mainland coastline is nearly 36,000 kilometres (24,000 miles) long, and if you include the numerous off-shore islands, the coastline is nearly 60,000 kilometres (40,000 miles).

Snorkelling possibilities are, quite simply, endless!

The majority (35 of 50) of the listed 50 Great Dives can be enjoyed by snorkellers too!

Four of the 50 Great Dives are snorkel only:

  1. Dwarf Minke Whales, Far North Queensland,
  2. Burranan Dolphins, Port Phillip Bay, Victoria,
  3. Exmouth Humpback Whales, northwest Western Australia, and
  4. Ningaloo Whale Sharks, northwest Western Australia.

Unfortunately, not all dive sites made the final 50 Great Dives list, so the following great snorkel dives have been added to give snorkellers more opportunity to experience other great Australian snorkelling locations.

More Great Dives for Snorkellers

  1. Bait Reef, Whitsunday Islands, Queensland,
  2. Barolin Rocks, Bundaberg, Queensland,
  3. Tangalooma Wrecks, Moreton Island, Queensland,
