Former HMAS Adelaide (FFG 01) was the lead ship of the Adelaide-class of guided missile frigates built for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) in the United States; she was commissioned by the RAN in 1980.
The Adelaide was scuttled for divers on 13 April 2011 and lies nestled on a sandy bottom in 40 metres (130’) upright on her keel, only a five-minute boat ride from Terrigal Haven.
Terrigal is a 75-minute drive (100 km/60 mi) north of Sydney, via the M1.
