HMAS Adelaide (FFG 01) – Adelaide-Class Guided Missile Frigate
Ex-HMAS Adelaide was the lead ship of the Adelaide–class of guided missile frigates built for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) in the United States, she was commissioned by the RAN in 1980.
The Adelaide- was scuttled for divers on 13 April 2011, and now lies nestled on a sandy bottom in 40 metres (130’) upright on her keel, only a five-minute boat ride from Terrigal Haven.
Terrigal is north of Sydney, a 75-minute drive (100 km/60 mi) via the M1.
